Sewing Themed Clothes
I’m not a huge fan of novelty clothing if I’m honest (I don’t want to be labelled the crazy, stitchy lady!), but I think these are quite subtle and lots of fun!
- I love a sweatshirt – especially in the colder months – and think this is a lovely sewing themed motif . It is also available in different colours.
- T-shirts are always handy and these have a pretty minimalist design which I like! They are available in lots of different colours, so you’re bound to find one you like!
- Sewing machines on socks…..what’s not to like?!
Sewing Notions
Birthday’s and Christmas are a great time to treat a quilter to notions that are over and above the basic sewing kit, but are lovely to have!
- Sharp scissors are a must when you’re constantly snipping threads. I’ve had these scissors for a couple of years now. They have a lovely weight to them and are fantastically sharp making them good for threads and appliqué. It helps that they look cute too!
- Having labels to sew in to an item always makes me feel that it’s just that extra bit special. A personalised set of labels would make a lovely and thoughtful gift. Or if you’re looking for some fun labels, Kylie and the Machine labels always have something I like!
- I was gifted a portable travel lamp a couple of years ago and it makes all the difference for sewing at night, or when it’s gloomy (I have a different make, but this is very similar). It also means that I can sit on the sofa and stitch more easily at night whilst others are watching films without needing all the lights on!
Sewing Themed Accessories
Who doesn’t love some jewellery, especially if it’s sewing themed?! My personal preference is for something that’s subtle or a bit quirky…..
- I’ve had my eye on these hexie earrings for a while now, although I’m torn between the rose-gold and the silver!
- I bought myself the hexagon necklace (in Summer Breeze) a few years ago, and every time I wear it I get some lovely compliments – especially from fellow quilters!!!
- I always love a quirky enamel pin, and this one would look great on a winter coat or pinned to a project bag!
Miscellaneous Ideas for Stitchers
And a few random things that I thought were quirky but brilliant for a quilter and stitcher!!!!
- What more can you want than a Rotary Cutter flash drive?! Available as 16GB or 32GB, perfect for storing all the PDF patterns that you buy!
- If a quilter is lucky enough to have their own area in which to stitch, why not buy some wall-art to add a little bit extra to the space?
- I’m sure I’m not the only quilter who loves a cuppa whilst they’re stitching? This mug would be the perfect companion!
