The Flexi Tote is a small tote bag that includes instructions for how to adapt the tote to fit your exact needs: a denim/upholstery weight version; internal slip/divided pockets; quilted version or a zip closure so that with the use of Insulbrite it would make a perfect lunch bag.
The PDF sewing guide includes 23 pages and over 50 step-by-step instructions to create the standard tote along with details for how to create 3 different versions of the bag, as well as space to write down any changes/additions that you make.
The finished Flexi-tote measures 10.5” wide x 9″ high x 6.5″ deep (the height measurement excludes the handles).
A bag can be made with just a half metre of fabric. Alternatively, you could use scraps to make a patchwork version.
As I started designing this tote bag, I realised there were so many ways it could be adapted — different pockets, constructions…..the possibilities are endless!
And as a result, so many ways that it could be used — carrying lunch to work, picking up a few bits from the market or keeping your latest craft project pieces together! The pattern has been written in a way that you can pick and choose what you want to make your perfect Flexi Tote! You can read more about my inspiration for it here.
Because of the different options in the pattern, it is suitable for beginner to intermediate sewers and can be made in a few hours if you go for the Standard version. You will need basic knowledge of how to use a sewing machine and hand-sewing.
The pattern is provided as an instant download, so a PDF reader is required. Once your purchase is complete, you will be able to download the pattern a maximum of three (3) times to print at home or read on a tablet. Refunds are not available for PDF digital downloads (read more here).
